Reed to debut Travel Catering Expo at Airport Show 2014

MIDDLE EAST - Reed Exhibitions is launching an exhibition dedicated to the airport catering industry to co-locate with its Airport Show in Dubai next year.
 
The launch event, Travel Catering Expo, is expected to attract more than 30 exhibitors and over 1,000 trade buyers representing food catering, hospitality, travel and aviation industries.
 
The 2013 edition of Reed’s Airport Show reported a larger show compared to 2012. More than 6,500 visitors attended in May this year at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), up from 5,000 in 2012.
 
This year, 220 companies exhibited across 11,000sqm of exhibition space, up from 211 across 10,302sqm in 2012. The organiser intends to surpass the 2013 figures in 2014.
 
The show had more than 60 hosted buyers from 12 countries, and also featured six country pavilions. A highlight of the show was
Women in Aviation, a photography exhibition highlighting the role and contribution of women in global aviation.
 
“The event mirrors the aviation industry’s robust growth and the region’s economic resilience, enabling decision-makers and other aviation industry professionals to explore the latest technologies and identify future challenges, in order to promote the success of a thriving aviation industry in the region,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Matkoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports and chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
 
According to Reed Exhibitions, more than 64 per cent of exhibitors have rebooked their participation for the 2014 edition, which will return to DICEC on 11-13 May 2014.
