New strategy for Messe Stuttgart guest events

EUROPE - Messe Stuttgart is to restructure its guest events programme to attract new business following positive results in its latest venue survey.

According to Messe Stuttgart, 95 per cent of all customers reported they were satisfied or very satisfied with guest events at the venue.

The team intends to use this research and provide organisers with a better service by introducing a new strategy to attract new guest events, focusing on five key thematic areas: Medicine and healthcare, automotive, IT, trade and energy.

For each of these areas, the sales team will have a permanent contact person familiar with the market environment. Messe Stuttgart said this will allow greater internal and external flexibility as service will in future come from a single source.

“By implementing this internal restructuring, we’re giving Stuttgart an even higher profile as a potential destination,” said division director of guest events at Messe Stuttgart, Stefan Lohnert.

“We want to become Germany’s number one fair and events location for the automotive, IT, medicine, energy and trade sectors, with resulting benefits for the region’s hotel, restaurant and culture industries.”

Messe Stuttgart has also made three key appointments to the sales team to implement the venue’s new strategy programme. Mirjam Hägele, a sales specialist has joined the team and will soon complete her degree in Business Studies (Trade Fair, Congress and Event Management) at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Ravensburg.

Hanna Hofmann and Sandra Tersteegen are also new to the venue, and will both be responsible for implementing trade fairs, corporate events and congresses in the project management team.

Event organiser Inspire awarded Messe Stuttgart a three-year contract to host its Lounges and Vision Pharma shows.
