APWA 2013 boasts rise in floor space

AMERICAS - National Trade Productions (NTP) has said floor space at its recent American Public Works Association’s (APWA) International Public Works Congress and Exposition rose by more than a fifth.

The organiser said the event spanned 8,000sqm of exhibition space, up 20.6 per cent from last year. The show attracted 412 exhibitors, held on 25-28 August at the McCormick Place in Chicago.

NTP and APWA added new areas to the show floor, including the Technology Pavilion, exhibitor product demo theatres and an expanded Sustainability Pavilion, featuring a model park and recreation area. More than 125 technical development sessions were held during the four-day event, focusing on key topics such as business services building, construction, control, design, disaster and development.

“Attendees at the International Public Works Congress and Exposition gather specifically to assess the state of the industry and find solutions they can implement immediately,” said NTP executive vice president Andrew Ortale. "To support this value proposition, NTP cultivated a dynamic exhibition experience that created outstanding opportunities for networking, exposure and lead generation for exhibitors.

“It’s a formula for success that drives real ROI and is reinforced by our onsite commitments for 2014 that already encompass 75 per cent of the show floor - marking one of the strongest resigns in APWA recent history,” said Ortale.

The 2014 event will take place on 17-20 August 2014 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
