Messe Friedrichshafen reports visitor rise at bike show

EUROPE - Messe Friedrichshafen has hailed its 22nd cycling and mobility show a success, claiming 45,200 trade visitors, up from 43,700 in 2012.

Eurobike 2013 was held on 28-31 August on the banks of Lake Constance at Friedrichshafen, with an additional 20,400 visitors attending the event on the public day, including a visit by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

“Mobility on two wheels was on display in all its diversity,” said a spokesman from the organiser. “A total of 1,280 exhibitors from 54 countries presented an impressive international selection in 14 exhibition halls, accompanied by just about 300 world premieres.”

Travel Talk was held alongside the event, focusing on the newest trends in bicycle tourism, including the travel behaviour of pleasure bikers, mountain bikers and racing cyclists; GPS, smartphones and digital maps. About 200 participants from 27 countries attended the workshops and presentations.

Eurobike 2014 will take place on 27-30 August 2014 at Friedrichshafen.
