Fastener Fair Russia to be launched in St Petersburg

EUROPE – Mack Brooks is launching Fastener Fair Russia, hoping it will be the first trade exhibition dedicated to the Russian marketplace.

The event, which will be held on 12-14 March 2013 at the Lenexpo Exhibition Centre in St Petersburg, will bring together companies in the fastener and fixings industry.

Organised by Restec-Brooks, a joint venture between Fastener Fair organisers Mack Brooks Exhibitions and its Russian partner Restec Exhibition Company, the debut event will be co-located with sheet metal working event BLECH Russia.

According to Mack Brooks, Russia’s economy experienced a 4.1 per cent GDP increase in 2011. New infrastructure projects such as the high-speed railway track from Moscow to St Petersburg, an investment of US$23bn and Russia’s 2014 Winter Olympic Games and 2018 World Cup have also helped to increase business opportunities in the country.

“This positive economic development in Russia, together with an increasing demand from companies in the fastener and fixings sector to approach this important market, made us launch a new Fastener Fair in St Petersburg, Russia’s fastest growing industrial region,” said exhibition director Susanne Rauberger.

“The region around St Petersburg is renowned for its automotive and shipbuilding production and as a centre for R&D, robotics, IT, metal working and the electronics industry,” she said, explaining the partnership’s choice of location.

Fastener Fair Russia covers industrial fasteners and fixings, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems, fastener manufacturing technology as well as storage and logistics services.

Another new Fastener Fair event, Fastener Fair Thailand, takes place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 September 2012.
