ASIA – Dutch company VNU Exhibitions Europe has entered into a joint venture partnership with Thailand’s TCC Exhibition and Convention Center.
After years cooperating on a variety of Thai trade exhibitions in Thailand, Vietnam and India, VNU has decided to form the new subsidiary, VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, based in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
The newly-formed organiser hopes to benefit from VNU’s sales and marketing expertise, tied to the strong regional presence and local network provided by TCC.
VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific will be managed MD Gerard Leeuwenburgh and GM Ladda Mongkolchavivit, who share 35 years of experience in managing international trade exhibitions.
The company plans to develop business-to-business exhibitions in the South East Asian region focusing on the agri-food, water and energy, sustainable building and construction and laboratory equipment sectors.
The companies currently work together on animal husbandry industry trade show VIV Asia. The new deal means VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific will adopt the role of TCC on this event as well as livestock trade exhibitions Ildex Vietnam and VIV/Ildex India.
Thailand’s ministry of industry is working to boost investment in the country’s exhibition sector, helped by the recent use of high profile keynote speakers at events such as the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Fair 2011.
