Reed Exhibitions buys co-located Mexican safety shows

AMERICAS – Reed Exhibitions subsidiary ISC Events is expanding its portfolio to include two security and safety events in Mexico.

Co-located exhibitions Expo Seguridad Mexico and Mexico Safety Expo are the latest additions to Reed Exhibitions’ ISC Events portfolio, a family of US and global physical security events.

Reed claims the acquisition will add extra value for its existing customers by offering them routes into the US, Mexico and Brazil through related exhibitions it runs in these countries.

Ten-year-old Expo Seguridad Mexico, held at the Banamex Center Expo in Mexico City on April 24-26 2012, is co-located with Mexico Safety Expo, Mexico Fire Expo and Facilities Mexico. Reed’s show pairing accounts for 350 exhibitors and 14,000 security and safety professionals.

“We have always felt a strong responsibility to our loyal exhibitors and visitors to bring to them a world-class event, and the decision to sell the events to Reed Exhibitions will enable us to continue doing so for the long term,” said founder of Expo Seguridad Mexico and Mexico Safety Expo Andrea Ferrando.

At the end of last year, Reed confirmed 2011 was been a year of growth in one of its other key growth markets, China.
