Helsinki’s Habitare, and the concurrent Antiikki, ArtHelsinki, ValoLight, and HifiExpo events, attracted almost 51,600 visitors to Messukeskus, according to preliminary data

Habitare is the largest interior decoration and design event in Finland. The event took place 7-11 September.

“It was a pleasure to walk through the redesigned halls and to notice that we were surrounded by very satisfied visitors and exhibitors. We are delighted that our customers believed in the change and in the cooperation in building the events”, said the programme director Laura Sarvilinna.

According to a survey of Habitare visitors, 39 per cent are planning a minor upgrade to their home decor in the next two years. Thirty per cent of the visitors estimate that they are going to make major reforms to their home decor, and more than 25 per cent are planning to buy new furniture.

The Habitare fair supported their buying decisions, as almost half of the visitors that made a purchase did so based on a good deal at the fair. Thirty-six per cent of respondents say that the trend to feature in their own decor in the next five years is clarity.

The other high-ranking qualities to show in the respondents’ own decor and purchases are high quality, Finnish manufacture, and closeness to nature. Last year, closeness to nature and eco-friendliness were considered to be the most important interior design trends.
