i2i announces Money20/20 Europe launch in Copenhagen

EUROPEi2i Events Group has chosen to host Money20/20 Europe in Copenhagen next year, with a view to accelerating its international growth.

The European edition of Money20/20 will launch at the Bella Center in the Danish capital, on 5–7 April 2016, with an expected 3,000 delegates in attendance.

The fast-growing event, acquired by i2i in 2014, is considered as the world’s largest conference and exhibition for innovators in the payments and financial services sector.

The fourth edition is expecting to welcome more than 10,000 decision-makers, entrepreneurs and leading industry figures in Las Vegas in October 2015.

I2i has worked closely with DMO Wonderful Copenhagen, the Bella Center and network organisation, Copenhagen Fintech Innovation and Research (CFIR), to secure the location for the European launch.

Mark Shashoua, i2i Events Group CEO said that Copenhagen epitomises Money20/20’s core values.

“As the cultural, economic and governmental centre of Denmark, and one of the major financial centres of Northern Europe, the city is accessible, forward thinking, competitive and entrepreneurial and has a long tradition as a knowledge hub,” he added. “We are delighted to be taking Money20/20 to Copenhagen and I am confident that it will offer an incredible event experience for the international payments and financial technology community.”

The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen welcomed the decision to bring the event to the city. “Copenhagen is the gateway to Scandinavia and has a strong and innovative financial sector. I look forward to welcoming all the participants and hope that they will also explore the city and its many attractions."
