Ogden appoints Frank Mohren, first stop Qatar

QATAR - AEG Ogden has announced that convention and exhibition industry veteran Frank Mohren will join the group in a venue development role.

One of his first assignments will be to fill the vacuum left in Doha following the departure of former GM Paul D’Arcy from Ogden’s Qatar National Convention Centre project.

Mohren recently left the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre after 15 years as its director of operations and where he oversaw development of the AUD$350m convention centre expansion which opened in July 2009.

AEG Ogden CEO Mr Harvey Lister said Mohren would be involved primarily in assisting with the establishment of the group’s new convention centre projects.

“We are currently expanding the number of facilities we have under management across the Asia Pacific region so Frank’s extensive experience in opening and operating major venues and hotels, both in Australia and internationally, makes him a very welcome addition to our specialist management team,” Lister said.

The Qatar National Convention Centre is due for completion in the second half of 2011.
