Informa announces China, India expansion plans

ASIA – Informa has announced its intention to double its presence in China and India in the next three years.

The plan is meant to balance the company’s geographical footprint as well as tap into the emerging Asian markets.

Chairman and CEO Peter Rigby said at a press conference: “We’d be disappointed in the next three years if we hadn’t grown, hadn’t doubled the size of that business. We’re seeing increased traction there. Both from an organic perspective and an investment perspective in India, China and Brazil, we’ve got quite a lot of irons in the fire. Some of those are absolutely organic and some are related to actually quite small acquisitions.”

Last year Informa launched new ventures and exhibitions in the Gulf and Brazil, as well as creating new business in India, focusing on emerging markets in the expansion of its telecoms conferences.
