CHINA - Reed Travel Exhibitions has confirmed its Chinese meetings event CIBTM is to become a permanent fixture on the Chinese annual events calendar.
Reed re-launched the Beijing-based three-day China Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition last summer. The organiser claims that meetings business opportunities in the region now justify the show’s annual appearance as part of China Meetings Week, which targets local meetings industry heads and senior management, as well as end users and media.
CIBTM exhibition director Graeme Barnett said, during the show’s sister event in the Gulf, GIBTM, that the show’s aim has always been to play a leading role in the Chinese meetings marketplace. “I believe our initiative to have a week entirely dedicated to the meeting and incentive industry will help China realise its huge potential in attracting and winning international business.
“This is where China Meetings Week can help advance the development of people, skills, knowledge and experience,” he added.
This year's event takes place 31 August at the China National Convention Centre, Beijing.
