Reed show AIME scoops Exhibition of the Year

AUSTRALIA - Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) and the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) have been awarded the Exhibition of the Year award for their Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) for the third consecutive year.

The accolade was awarded at the Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) NSW Gala Awards Dinner in Sydney.

“I’m honoured to accept this award on behalf of RTE and MCVB,” says AIME event director Rosemarie Sama. “We will continue to have a strong focus on researching the experience of our exhibitors and visitors to improve the event.”

AIME is a business travel, meetings and incentives exhibition, owned by the MCVB and organised by RTE, and annually held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The MCVB has also been recognised for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives at the Victorian MEA Industry Awards for the second year running and won the Metropolitan Destination Marketing Organisation award.

MCVB’s CEO, Ms Sandra Chipchase, pictured, says: “During 2008/09, MCVB developed a series of firsts for any Australian Convention Bureau. These include launching a low carbon impact incentive travel website, complete with itineraries, and creating a free, online Event Carbon Calculator to calculate and offset carbon emissions of business events held in Melbourne.”

National winners will be announced and presented at the 2010 MEA National Awards Night, being held on 20 April 2010 at the MCEC.
