International CES boasts record numbers

US - The International Consumer Electronics Show kicked off the decade with record numbers at its 2010 event.

Around 330 new exhibitors took a stand at the event, and more than 250 conference sessions were held over four days, making the 2010 show the largest to-date. More than 120,000 industry professionals attended, almost 6,000 more than last year.

The show featured 20,000 new products hoped to hit the consumer market in the near future. These included revolutionary technologies such as 3D television and mobile digital television, as well as new green technologies, tablets and apps.

Celebrities such as Dr Dre, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift also attended.

“The innovations unveiled this week at the 2010 International CES brought new optimism and opportunity to our industry and the global economy,” says president and CEO of CES, Gary Shapiro.
