Top Gear Live drives into Holland

Holland - Consumer motoring event Top Gear Live is going Dutch with a new exhibition for 2010.

Holland’s capital Amsterdam is the newest fixture in the Brand Events’ organised show’s international line-up, hosting the first show of 2010 on 21–24 January. A car exhibition will run alongside the show.

Amsterdam is the latest city to join the show’s world tour, which this year included Hong Kong, Sydney and Dublin among its destinations.

Amsterdam was identified as a strong territory for the Top Gear brand, according to the  commercial director of Top Gear Live, James Cooke-Priest. “It understands and enjoys the brand either through the television programme, which is broadcast on both BBC and Veronica channels here, or through the magazine,” he said.

The decision to produce the live show is more good news for Dutch petrol heads, who earlier this year saw the nation’s foremost car exhibition AutoRai narrowly avoid collapse after a major cost-cutting programme and overall change of format.

“Top Gear Live is an entertainment-lead show, underpinned by consumer passion for the brand and love of cars irrespective of the local car producing infrastructure,” added Cooke-Priest.
