GES extends capability in Europe with new Dutch facility

EUROPE - Global Experience Specialists (GES) has strengthened its European capability with the launch of a new operating facility in Amsterdam.

The new Dutch venture, which includes the recruitment of two new members of staff, complements its growing European delivery network and its position in the global events market. It will focus on producing exhibitions, conferences, congresses and corporate events.

Annemieke Kroon joins as senior account director and Antonio Dam as senior operations director, both responsible for growing the business and strengthening its service delivery network across mainland Europe. Further appointments are planned.

The team will capitalise on existing GES facilities and resources in Germany, as well as the company's 36-man ServiCentre team in the UK.

GES’ executive VP of international, Jason Popp, said the service provider wanted to expand the “scope and efficiency” of the service its European customers have come to expect.

“With our new operation in Amsterdam and the appointment of Annemieke and Antonio, GES is now ideally positioned to do just that,” he said. “Our aim is to deliver exhibitions and events within the local markets by local teams that are supported by our industry-leading product and service platform, which is currently utilised on shows we deliver worldwide."

Melville GES, the company’s UK-based operation, recently made a number of strategic investments and launched a range of new products and services targeted at driving customer service.

GES produces a number of European events including the European Seafood Show, European Attractions, LabelExpo, VitaFoods and the Health Ingredients Europe exhibition in Frankfurt.

UK venue Excel London recently signed a 10-year agreement with Melville GES, the company’s UK-based operation, to become the venue’s preferred event services supplier for all new exhibitions, congresses and corporate events.
