GO buys Active Event Management

ASIA - Malaysia-based GO Communications Group has acquired Cambodian event producer Active Event Management in a hope to capitalise on business events in Cambodia’s growing economy.

CEO of GO Communications, Michael de Kretser, described the acquisition as another step towards creating one of the largest independent PR networks in Asia.

The group acquired the Thailand-based public relations agency, DC Consultants, in May 2012.

“Cambodia has one of the best economic records today in Asia,” said de Kretser. “Economic growth averages over eight per cent – making it one of the world’s top 10 countries in annual GDP growth.”

Phnom Penh-based Active Event Management has a staff of over 25 plus 180 field work support staff. Active Events will continue to be led by MD Sisopheak Siet.

As a result of the acquisition, GO will become more involved with Active’s business operations, as well as integrating their business resources.

“GO will get more involved with all of our business operations. As yet, we have not been completely merged with GO, but our business operations are within their control,” said Siet.
