Informa highlighted in UK newspaper best companies listings

EUROPE – UK-based media company Informa has been awarded ‘Ones to Watch’ status in the The Sunday Times' Best Companies Accreditation 2012 listings.

Now in its 12th year, 'Best Companies to Work For' list is a well-recognised accreditation compiled based on research from one of the largest surveys of its kind.

This is the first year Informa has taken part in the survey. More than 246,000 employees were surveyed from 1,082 organisations across the private and not-for-profit sectors.

“Each year Best Companies celebrates the cream of UK workplaces,” said Informa’s group human resources director Emma Blaney. “This survey is judged by the most discerning of people – employees themselves – and is a mark of employee engagement and the benefits this brings.”

“How well a company scores is based entirely on how people rate their employer based on eight key factors: Leadership; My Manager; Personal Growth; Wellbeing; My Team; Giving Something Back; My Company and Fair Deal,” she added.

Informa said the accreditation demonstrates its commitment to staff and is testament to their commitment to the company in turn.

“The feedback we receive from the process will enable us to improve our aim to be one of the most outstanding businesses in the UK,” said Blaney.

Informa’s exhibition revenue for the year ended 31 December 2011 rose to £134m (US$213m), up from £107.4m in 2010, as part of its four per cent overall revenue increase to £1.28bn.
