The Las Vegas Convention Center leading the way on the highway to recovery

The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is showing a lead in the global exhibition Covid recovery with 52 trade shows and events in 2021, welcoming more than 700,000 attendees back to Las Vegas.

The LVCC brought five new shows to the destination for the first time in 2021 including ICSC, Working Ranch Expo and The ARA Show.

John Schreiber, vice-president of business sales for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said: "It’s clear that organisers, exhibitors and attendees are ready to get back to in-person events and as we move into the New Year and beyond, we look forward to delivering the only in Vegas experience our visitors have come to expect."

The DEMA Show, the largest trade-only event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, ocean water sports and adventure/dive travel industries, returned to the LVCC 16-19 November. Tom Ingram, CEO and president of DEMA, commented: “Everyone had a great show, enjoyed seeing each other in-person again, conducting business, attending professional development sessions, and once again building important personal relationships."

The LVCC has a strong schedule of events and shows going into 2022 and expects to host nearly 20 events from January to March, including:

  • Consumer Electronics Show (CES): 5–7 January
  • World of Concrete:  18-20 January
  • AHR Expo: 31 January- 2 February
  • MAGIC Marketplace:  14-17 February
  • ASD Market Week: 27 February- 2 March

Also, the hospitality partner to the LVCC, Sodexo Live!, has announced the donation of nearly 1,000 boxed lunches from this year’s CES to local food banks.

Food recovered from the trade show was provided to community-based social service agencies supporting food insecure individuals throughout the Las Vegas area.

Steven Potts, regional vice-president, stated: “Our locally-based team always jumps at any chance we get to do something positive like this, and we’re thrilled that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Consumer Technology Association (CTA) helped make it so seamless.”
