Pico wins contracts for 20 pavilions and multiple projects at Expo Dubai

Global brand activation company, Pico Far East Holdings has won several contracts across a spectrum of exposition activation services for the upcoming World Expo in Dubai

To date, the group is servicing some 20 pavilions, including national pavilions for Algeria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Malta and the UK, the SAIC Motor booth at China Pavilion, and a number of corporate and thematic pavilions. As well as overlay, carpark and wayfinding packages, Pico is also providing interior fit-out services for the temporary structure at the Dubai Exhibition Centre and for the retail outlets across the three thematic districts at the Expo site.

Additionally, the group has been appointed to provide event and operation management services for several clients.

Pico has over three decades of experience in creating pavilions and providing services for world expos. The group’s first was Vancouver’s Expo in 1986 and, more recently, it helped participating countries and organisations at Shanghai 2010, Yeosu 2012, Milano 2015 and Astana 2017 realise their expo ambitions. Expo Dubai is the 11th expo serviced by Pico.

Themed ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, Expo Dubai will host more than 190 nations and over 50 country pavilions. It will be held for a six-month period starting from 1 October 2021.

The 4.38sq. km. site is in Dubai South district, close to Al Maktoum International Airport. The site will also have its own metro station, as part of legacy planning for the expo. The site will feature three thematic districts: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability
