Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition arrives at Sydney

AUSTRALASIA - Reed Mining Events has revealed its Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) is returning to Sydney this summer with a focus on innovation, women in mining and safety.

AIMEX will take place on 20-23 August at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, covering more than 45,000sqm of exhibition space. The organiser expects more than 600 exhibitors to showcase the latest mining equipment, products and services.

“Increasing female participation in mining is a key issue for both the industry and governments; safety is a major ongoing concern for the mining sector, and ongoing productivity improvements are essential for its ongoing success,” said exhibition director Paul Baker.

The organiser said the ‘theme days’ are returning with the show, focusing on key issues in the industry including how the very latest processes, systems, services and products can meet miners’ demands for productivity and efficiency gains.

“These theme days - which help us ensure a deep engagement with the mining community at all levels - have proved to be a popular feature of Reed Mining Events’ structured portfolio of premium mining industry events since they were pioneered at AIMEX 2011," Baker added.

“In the two years since our last AIMEX, the industry has really focused on productivity and efficiency, particularly with the softening in resources prices globally, and the need to reduce costs,” he said.
