New digital categories announced as World Exhibition Stand Awards go live for 2021

Global stand designers can show off their creative work at an even broader showcase this year, with 25 additional categories added for the World Exhibition Stand Awards 2021 edition, for which entries opened 1 March.

Now in its third year, the World Exhibition Stand Awards, owned by Mash Media, offer a global platform for designers to show off the very best in exhibition stand design and experience, whatever the show, wherever in the world, whoever the client.

Since 2018, the World Exhibition Stand Awards have been won by more than 100 of the finest creative agency designers. Winning projects have included work for prominent brands including Philips, Microsoft, BAE Systems, Red Bull, Google, Airbus, Huawei, and CISCO.

Awards manager, Lisa Farnfield told Exhibition World that designers are ready to celebrate their projects again, with initial indications that 84% of designers in this community considering entering between two and five of their stand projects this year. “They are ready to win again, so we’re excited to open up the 2021 awards,” she said. “Our new Best Activation categories at digital events match our designer communities’ work in that sphere, helping their clients engage with their customers during the pandemic,” Farnfield added.

Stan Kruss, CEO of Expo Centric, a previous multi-winner of the World Exhibition Stand Awards, said: “The event and exhibition market will be different for a long time, but during the past six months the world has taken a giant leap forwards in technology, which is here to stay.” 

One of World Exhibition Stand Awards sponsors, Your Stand Builder, an online portal for stand design projects, reported a 44% increase in its web traffic in one week last month and Matthew Funge, CEO of the company told Exhibition World: “Now it finally looks as if we are moving closer to a big return for in-person events and the key stakeholders are beginning to mobilise by putting plans in place for later this year.”

So, as the industry starts its journey to recovery of live events returning, the World Exhibition Stand Awards offer global designers a platform to celebrate their achievements and boost their creative teams’ morale as well as helping win all important new business.

Previous WESA winner Richard Bartlett MD and creative director, Evolve Creative Solutions, said: “Being a multi WESA winner means a great deal. It has given the entire company a real boost.”  

“The judges are really excited to see the new ways global designers have adapted and expanded their business offerings over the last 12 months, and also to see live event design projects from 2019/2020,” Farnfield added.

In 2020 there were over 159 winners from more than 60 global design agencies and brands from Europe, Asia, North America, Australasia and UK.

Qualification period for the categories this time are from 1 October 2018 until 28 February 2021, with winners announced in July 2021.
