ITB China 2020 organisers postpone show due to spread of coronavirus

The organisers of this year’s ITB China tradeshow have announced its postponement citing the risk of spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The show - China’s largest B2B exclusive travel trade show - had been scheduled to be held on 13–15 May at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

Organisers Messe Berlin China say they hope to announce deferred show dates in due course. They cited the regular report and COVID-19 prevention notification released by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China recently. The report noted the situation in China continued to be challenging and that developments in the following months were very hard to foresee.

Organisers said they had taken the decision to postpone ITB China 2020 in order to ensure the safety of ITB China’s exhibitors and visitors, and “in a responsible way allow all participants to make necessary arrangements in a timely manner”.

Organisers said they would continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates based on official assessments of the overall risk situation.
