Hydrogen summit and expo discusses energy crisis

The third edition of the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Summit & Expo 2022 took place from 21 - 22 September at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre.

At the event, professionals from the business, government, and science sectors, along with several high-tech companies, gathered to discuss the hydrogen market.

The event’s patron, Bavarian economy minister Hubert Aiwanger, welcomed guests from more than 15 countries, saying: “We now need to rapidly power up the hydrogen industry, the European infrastructure, and establish international partnerships for delivering green hydrogen.”

“That’s the way to both achieve an independent energy supply and make us climate-neutral.”

Energy debate urgency

According to HYDROGEN DIALOGUE, the significance of this year’s event was heightened due to the climate crisis and the pressure on energy caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Dr Veronika Grimm, co-director of H2.B Center Hydrogen.Bavaria, said: “Transforming our energy system has become an even more pressing, topical issue than ever. Hydrogen will play an important role in a climate-neutral energy system and will help safeguard and diversity our energy supply.”

More than 100 presenters led the content for the two-day event, addressing the value chain of the global hydrogen industry with an emphasis on innovation and investment.

Continuing in Brazil

“The task of discussing and especially encouraging the acceleration of the hydrogen market is, in any case, a challenge that we cannot manage all on our own”, said Prof. Dr Roland Fleck, joint CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group.

The Nuremburg HYDROGEN DIALOGUE drew to a close on 22 September, but DIALOGUE Latin America in São Paulo will take place from 9 to 10 November.

According to the Brazilian event, professionals from the business and science sectors will discuss the international potential of hydrogen.

HYDROGEN DIALOGUE in Nuremberg was organised by NürnbergMesse Group event director Jasmin Rutka and her team.
