MICEberg force of nature FIEXPO grows in Chile

EW was an official Media Partner of FIEXPO, the Latin American and Caribbean specialist MICE industry leading show, which completed its three-year cycle in Chile this June.

Editor Paul Colston joined a pre-tour to Patagonia, where the MICEberg was visited and where stunning scenery can make a treat of an add-on to any conference programme.

The exhibition and one-on-one meeting action took place 14-15 June in Santiago, where the tradeshow took place at Casa Piedra and presentations and gala and social events at the Sheraton Hotel.

Show director Sergio Baritussio told EW exclusively that there had been 2,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors, with 253 VIP hosted buyers (and 750 other buyers) , all record numbers. A total of 8,700 meetings were scheduled.

A post show highlight was a gala awards dinner hosted by Colombia, the country which has the contract for the next three editions of this rotating event. FIEXPO 2020 will go to Cartagena, with the 2021 edition in Medellin and the 2022 FIEXPO going to the capital Bogota.
