Mash Media's Christmas Lunch in partnership with ExCeL and Brand Events

Three big players in the events industry joined together on Tuesday 13 December to bring Christmas cheer to some of London’s most vulnerable citizens.

ExCeL London, exhibitions publisher Mash Media and organiser Brand Events hosted a Christmas lunch at ExCeL for 350 elderly residents from care homes and shelters across Newham.

Recognising that loneliness is a significant factor in the lives of some elderly members of the local community, the three companies pooled together their collective resources to make a difference this Christmas, hosting an afternoon of lunch, music and companionship for local elderly residents.

They have been supported in their efforts by contributions and volunteers from partners including ExCeL London Hospitality (Leiths), Europcar, Agility, Ways and Means, Closer Still and the help of Newham-based charity, CFE (Community Food Enterprise) who coordinated the invitations to residents across the borough.

Mash Media managing director Julian Agostini said: "It has been a long-time ambition of mine (Mash’s) to unite the exhibition industry and create a Christmas experience for those that need it the most. This is surely the true spirit of Christmas and it was incredible to be able to bring that dream to fruition. I can’t thank ExCeL enough for helping us to host this special day and hope that we can make it bigger and better next year."
