As 2016 kicks off, two destinations, San Diego and Copenhagen, have predicted a record year.

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation’s 2016 annual forecast has predicted a record-breaking year in terms of primary attendance, room nights, building occupancy and direct attendee spending from a total of 108 events currently scheduled in the facility.

The projected medical meeting attendance, hotel room nights and tax revenues in San Diego are all the highest they have been since 2007 and third highest overall.

Elsewhere, Copenhagen’s 2016 is being billed as the busiest congress year ever in the Danish capital. 2016 includes congresses and conferences such as MPI’s educational conference EMEC, medical congress EMS, Women Deliver, Sustainable Brands, neurology congress EAN, hematology congress EHA, Wonca Europe conference, neuroscience conference FENS and oncology congress ESMO.
