Turnover for the Messe Berlin group of companies is forecast to reach 238 million euros, marking an increase of 27 per cent over the base year 2013 (188m euros).

More than two million visitors attended 102 events held by the Messe Berlin group of companies in the 2015 financial year.

In addition to producing the best business results in the company’s history in an odd-numbered year – in which traditionally there are fewer events – 2015 was also an outstanding year in terms of trade fairs and conferences.

Christian Göke, CEO of Messe Berlin, said: “The fact that after over a decade of continuous growth there has been a 27 per cent rise in turnover means that this last year was very special. It is something everyone at Messe Berlin can be very proud of and makes us confident that we can meet the challenges of the future."

In 2015, trade fairs at Messe Berlin such as the International Green Week Berlin, Fruit Logistica, ITB Berlin and IFA once again proved to be international leaders in their respective sectors.

Other highlights in 2015 on the capital’s calendar of events included numerous national and international trade fairs and consumer exhibitions and over 50 guest events and conferences.
