Reed Exhibitions appoints new chief finance officer

EUROPE - Reed Exhibitions has appointed André Weijde as its new chief finance officer in Dusseldorf, succeeding Matthias Templin.

After his formal studies as a chartered accountant, Weijide first worked for an audit firm for eight years. He then moved to Reed Elsevier, Reed Exhibitions’ corporate parent, to take on an internal auditor position in 1992.

From 2000 to 2010, Weijde served as chief finance officer for Reed Elsevier Deutschland, and most recently held the positions of CEO and CFO for the professional information solutions provider EPPG, which had acquired parts of Reed Business Information – including trade journals, online portals and publishing operations – in a management buyout.

“André Weijde’s international expertise enjoys widespread recognition across our entire corporate group,” said Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland. “We’re delighted to welcome him on board as we move forward.”

Reed Exhibitions claims to be the world’s largest exhibition organiser with consolidated sales of EUR 1,051 million (US$1,419 million) in 2012.

“Over the past twelve years, Matthias Templin has played a key role in Reed Exhibitions Deutschland’s economic development; for that I would like to thank him personally as well as on behalf of our corporate leadership,” added Erbel.

Reed Exhibitions recently appointed Eduard Pöllitzer as the new exhibition manager of its hotel, tourism and leisure trade shows in Europe.
