EIBTM expands global reach with new African Pavilion

EUROPE - The organiser of European Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) will be launching a dedicated Africa Pavilion at the 2013 edition of the event.

More than 300 association meeting planners are expected to attend this year’s EIBTM on 19-21 November, a week earlier than in previous years, in Barcelona.

According to Graeme Barnett, senior exhibition director at Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), the pavilion has been introduced due to an increased demand from international buyers seeking to place outbound MICE business with African suppliers. "We also have a number of additional business and networking opportunities available at this year’s EIBTM which will further facilitate the business links between Africa and the rest of the world.”

The new pavilion will provide an area on the show floor for suppliers to showcase their products. Suppliers exhibiting in the pavilion will also be provided with a pre-scheduled diary of appointments with hosted buyers who have expressed interest in placing business in Africa.

In June, RTE announced the launch of a sustainable support campaign for exhibitors, with advice to ensure they adopt a sustainable approach to their participation at the show.

Last year’s EIBTM achieved record hosted buyer numbers and included the launch of the EIBTM forum.
