New Delhi toy expo expecting 10,000 visitors

ASIA - The Toy Biz International Expo is anticipating more than 10,000 visitors as the event returns to New Delhi this week, said the organiser the Toy Association of India (TAI).

In its seventh year, the show will feature a 'Destination India' theme, held at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition and Convention Centre, on 20-23 July.

"This year's theme is to demonstrate the potential of the Indian toy industry's creativity," said TAI president Sunil Nanda. “Indian toys are contributing towards the new teaching methods in schools. ‘Edutainment’ is the buzzword."

The organiser said the objective is to provide an interface between buyers and sellers to discuss business opportunities. More than 100 companies are expected to exhibit their products and services at the four-day event.

In other regional news, the Indian arm of Reed Exhibitions has partnered with Services International to form Reed SI Exhibitions based in New Delhi, to create a platform for networking and cater to the growing needs of a vast customer base in India.
