Messe Frankfurt confirms German pavilion concept at Expo Milano 2015

EUROPE - Messe Frankfurt has revealed the German pavilion design at Expo Milano 2015 will be have the theme of ‘Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life’.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the consortium of Milla & Partner, Schmidhuber and Nüssli developed content ideas and architectural design around the key issues of sustainable development. The consortium said the design will highlight the commercial and cultural relationship between Germany and Italy, and set new standards for a shared European future.

Expo Milan 2015 takes place from 1 May to 31 October 2015, where Germany will have the largest plot on site, at 4,913sqm.

"The key features of the concept are that it abandons the usual pathways that guide visitors around the pavilion and closely interlinks the presentation of space and content," said Schmidhuber managing partner Lennart Wiechell. "We want to communicate the themes of the exhibition in the German pavilion in a fun and entertaining way,” said Milla & Partner creative director Peter Redlin. “We want to motivate people to join in and inspire them to take matters into their own hands."
