Security expo targets 15,000 visitors in Israel

MIDDLE EAST - The sixth edition of the international security and defence exhibition ISDEF is expected to draw 15,000 visitors from 60 countries, the organiser has claimed.

The ‘largest defense expo in Israel’ is also expected to host 250 exhibiting companies on 4-6 June at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Center. The event is co-organised by a group of companies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Israel, IB Consultancy, the Chamber of Commerce Israel-Portugal and the Industrial Cooperation Authority (ICA).

Israel is pitched as a high potential target market for defence and security, and ISDEF has positioned itself as a leading international defence exhibition, highlighting the country’s security technologies to foreign visitors and introducing international solutions to the lucrative Israeli market, said a spokesman from the organiser.

A new feature to this year’s show is the New Innovations Pavilion,  supporting innovations from small and medium countries, “by providing them with a platform to test their marketability to all of the potential end-users in Israel at an extremely low cost,” said the organiser.

Also launching at the show is the first international Non-conventional Threat (NCT) conference, which will include topics such as CBRNe and C-IED preparedness in the near East, medical CBRN countermeasures and emergency preparedness, detection and decontamination, and special forces and first responders.

”Our purpose at ISDEF is to highlight cooperation and innovative technology that has been implemented in defence and security projects” said ISDEF international relations executive Neil Margolius.

Recently GSA Exhibitions hailed its security expo a success in Singapore, and UBM reported a 41 per cent visitor increase at IFSEC and OSH in Saudi Arabia.
