RCCI brings touch of Pakistani to Mauritius and the UK

WORLD - Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) is expanding its ‘Made In Pakistan’ portfolio launching shows in Mauritius and the UK.

The UK edition of the Made in Pakistan Expo is scheduled to take place on 4-8 July at the British Muslim Heritage Centre, and is aiming to promote Pakistani products in European countries

President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh said RCCI is the only chamber of commerce that has organised 10 single country expos in a calendar year in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.

RCCI is also launching a Made in Pakistan event in Mauritius, on 22-26 August, to strengthen bilateral trade relations. The European market has scope for Pakistani-made furniture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, tiles, sanitary ware, and carpets, said high commissioner of Mauritius Mohammad Rashad Daureeawo. “These opportunities must be tapped.”

Last year, protestors targeted the Pakistani product fair in Mumbai. A group of 50 Shiv Sena activists gathered outside the Made in Pakistan Expo 2012, held at the World Trade Centre complex in Mumbai, according to reports in the Hindustan Times.
