Aircraft interior expo flies high for Reed Exhibitions

EUROPE – Reed Exhibitions claims its recently held Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIE) played host to the world’s largest display of aircraft interiors, products and services, on 9-11 April at Hamburg Messe, Germany.

The organiser reported a 12 per cent increase on visitor numbers year-on-year, attracting more than 8,900, with 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest products in the cabin interior sector.

The show co-located with the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) which received more than 1,000 visitors.

“We are thrilled with the number of visitors that attended not only the exhibition but also the Passenger Experience Conference,” said AIE exhibition director Katie Murphy.

Over 300 delegates attended the Passenger Experience Conference, which featured seminars from Dr Joachim Schneider, head of product management and airport passenger services at Lufthansa German Airlines; and Devin Liddell, principal brand strategist at Teague.

“We are fully committed to building on Aircraft Interiors Expo's position as a global showcase for innovation and an influential forum for the discussion of key topical issues,” said Murphy.

A spokesman from the organiser said: “Aircraft Interiors Expo has become renowned as the platform for seat manufacturers to launch their latest offerings to save weight and increase comfort and 2013 saw this trend continue.”
