Diversified Indian Food Fair to return in 2012

ASIA - Diversified Business Communications is upbeat about its 2011 Indian food fair launch after more than half the debut fair’s exhibitors signed up for the 2012 event.

Fine Food India, held in New Delhi in December 2011, expanded Diversified’s global food portfolio in Asia, bringing together 138 exhibitors from 17 different countries.

The new show saw Diversified expanding the 28 year-old Fine Food brand outside Australasia for the first time. The flagship event, Fine Food Australia, is Australia’s largest international food and hospitality event, bringing together over 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries.

The 3,500 attendees at the Indian event were presented with a seminar and education programme that included a business forum, food theatre, drinks theatre, the Bocuse d’Or Chef Championship and the 4th Indian Sommelier Championship.

“Diversified is ecstatic with the market response to Fine Food India,” said MD of Diversified Exhibitions Australia Matthew Pearce. “Over half of the 2011 exhibitors have already committed to our 2012 show.”

The US-headquartered company produces some of the world’s largest seafood events, held in Brussels and Boston. Last year, after launching the Asia Seafood Exposition - an event co-located with Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong, the company announced the launch of its newest seafood event Seafood Barcelona in October 2012.

Diversified’s food portfolio now includes over 25 face-to-face events and a number of supporting print publications and eMedia sites.

The chairman of Diversified Exhibitions Australia stepped down earlier this month after 36 years in the exhibition industry.
