Authorities called in over fire at Orlando exhibition venue

AMERICAS - Authorities in Orlando have been called in to investigate an electrical fire that filled the fourth floor of the Orange County Convention Center with smoke.

Twenty firefighters were called out late on Saturday night following reports smoke was filling the venue’s penthouse area. The size of the building meant nearly two dozen firefighters had to work alongside convention centre engineers to locate the source of the blaze, which was eventually identified as an electrical fire in a mechanical room.

No events were being hosted at the time of the blaze, although several workers had to be temporarily relocated. No injuries have been recorded as a result of the fire.
