Wine shows have international appeal

Italy - Intense promotion of two exhibitions for the olive and wine-growing industry has helped boost the number of foreign delegates by 80 per cent according to organisers.

SIMEI (International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition) and ENOVITIS (International Vine and Olive Growing Technics Exhibition) at the Fiera Milano in Rho worked with the Milan Chamber of Commerce to attract 9,575 international visitors. Delegates came from a number of countries including the Czech Republic, Georgia, Slovak, Ploland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan as well Chile, Vietnnam and India.

Vanni Ferrari, president of the Technical Committee of ENOVITIS welcomed the increase in foreign visitors. “We must go on working in this direction to make this event an unmissable international reference point for all the trade operators of the vine-growing and wine-making chain.”

The shows, which ran 24 to 28 November, attracted a total of 51,545 visitors.
