Swisscom Broadcast acquires Veertly virtual event platform

Four years after developing the first prototype and two years after closing a seed financing round, the virtual event platform Veertly is being acquired by fellow Swiss company Swisscom Broadcast.

Swisscom Broadcast is part of the Swisscom Group, a major telecommunications provider. Swisscom Broadcast says its move emphasises its strong commitment to providing top-tier virtual and hybrid event solutions.

Events hosted on the Veertly platform range from small workshops and networking events to large corporate conferences and international exhibitions. Veertly has served clients in more than 20 countries mainly in the DACH market.

The deal follows a seed financing round in 2021 at Veertly with participation from coparion and business angels.

Veertly was founded in 2020 by Alexander Spahn, Joao Aguiam, and Joschka Finkbeiner. “We are incredibly grateful to all customers, employees, investors, and partners for their trust, feedback, and support over the past four years,” said Spahn.

Aguiam added: “We are looking forward to this union which promises to continue and evolve Veertly’s success story under the name Swisscom Broadcast.”

The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Swisscom Broadcast is an established information and communication solutions provider for customers with particularly high security requirements. The company has around 270 employees.

Veertly is a Swiss-based company founded in 2020 and offers an all-in-one platform for hybrid and online events, as well as digital collaboration to clients in 20 countries.
