The Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) is reopening later this September, with the redeveloped space welcoming delegates to Bangkok for all kinds of events from MICE to lifestyle.
The new venue will highlight its events calendar with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2022, hosting the event with the theme “Open. Connect. Balance.” The event will take place November 2022.
APEC 2022 will be a significant event that will demonstrate the power of meeting face to face in the real world. This shows the confidence of business travellers and signifies the return of the meetings industry.
Mr. Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, CEO of N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd., said: “The new QSNCC will be able to accommodate all types of events unlimitedly, featuring cutting-edge technology and complete facilities guaranteed with standards compatible with global top event venues in other countries.”
The redeveloped space at QSNCC will provide five times the total space as previously offered and can host multiple large-scale events simultaneously. The space has more than 130 events lined up until the end of 2023 and expect to welcome more than 13 million visitors per year.
On the tech side of things, the venue will have the infrastructure to host next-generation events with 5G and top-level IT infrastructure including security technologies being key selling points for the Bangkok.
Sustainability is also a major plus, as the QSNCC will be the first and only convention centre to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. It garnered praise by using environmentally friendly construction materials, by adopting 25% of recycled products and 75% of recyclable products, solar cells on the rooftop, and energy-saving devices constitute sustainable management
The QSNCC is surrounded by 450 Rai of Benjakitti Forest Park, the new green heart of Bangkok frequented by exercise lovers and offers 11,000 square meters of retail space for visitors under the concept of “Bangkok Active Lifestyle Mall”. Delegates can enjoy more than 100 leading retails brands, restaurant and amenities.
