The 2022 TFWA World Exhibition and Conference, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 2 - 6 October, has revealed the details of its conference and workshop programme.
At the show, speakers will update delegates on the key trends shaping duty-free and travel retail post-pandemic.
TFWA Conference
The TFWA president, Erik, will open the Conference, followed by a session hosted by industry leaders in economics and branding.
Speakers will include David McWilliams, adjunct professor of Global Economics at Trinity College Dublin’s School of Business, who will discuss economics and geopolitics; and Raymond Cloosterman, founder and CEO of Rituals, who will address post-pandemic brand-building.
The Conference will also cover the Metaverse. This will be led by Swan Sit, operating partner of AF Ventures and digital technologies expert.
TFWA workshops
TFWA’s workshops will feature at this year’s conference. Two ‘Airport Forum’ sessions have been scheduled for 4 October, and an ‘Innovation in Action’ session has been scheduled for 5 October. The aim of these workshops is for delegates to learn about the evolution of the passenger experience and the future of the airport commercial business.
The Airport Forum session will feature Heathrow Airport Retail and Property director Fraser Brown, Incheon International Airport Corporation director duty free management team Sung Bin Im, and Chief Digital and Commercial Officer of Istanbul Airport Ersin Inankul.
Innovation in Action will study developments in customer engagement, with speakers including Intelligent Track System founder and CEO Morten Pankoke, and founder and CEO of Inflyter Wassim Saadé. More speakers will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
