Melbourne’s CENTREPIECE to mark opening with live event in September

CENTREPIECE, a new conference and exhibition venue under construction in Melbourne, has announced it will be opening in September 2021.

The three-story venue is hosting the Associations Forum National Conference as a live event from 6-7 September to mark its opening.

CENTREPIECE is situated next to the Rod Laver Arena and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and close to the Melbourne CBD. Hard hat tours of the venue are available now.

General manager of the Associations Forum, Fatima Sunderji, said: “The Associations Forum’s mission is bringing associations together to share knowledge and best practice within the industry, through our range of member services and educational events. We are so thrilled to bring back physical events, and what better way to do this then by holding our 16th National Conference in Melbourne.”

General manager of premier events & experiences Lara Burnes added: “It’s been a long time coming – and the team and I are buzzing with excitement to welcome Australians, and guests from abroad. With CENTREPIECE located within our iconic Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct, the new venue will also become the official media centre for the Australian Open 2022.

“So far, Melbourne & Olympic Parks has already welcomed over 250,000 guests across 60 event days in 2021, and we cannot wait to officially open the doors to CENTREPIECE. We look forward to helping our industry supercharge events for this year and beyond.”

For those interested in experiencing the venue firsthand ahead of the grand opening, hard hat tour expressions of interests are now open. With the completion only a few months away, there are limited opportunities to experience the venue whilst its in construction.”
