MEET TAIWAN launches new talent training initiative

In April of 2023, MEET TAIWAN launched an exhibition talent training project to cultivate new talent for the exhibition industry, organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA),

The initiative will focus on innovation and professionalism as a response to the global labour shortage following the pandemic. It furthermore aims to bridge the gap between the industry and emerging talents, offering opportunities for them to become aware of and keep up with industry trends.

The first session took place on 27 April (pictured above), led by digital experiences company Ultra Combos Interactive Design Co. At the session, attendees learned more about combining immersive experiences with entertainment at exhibitions.

Now named MICE Salon, in 2024 the program will reinforce new talent’s expertise in digital technology, sustainable exhibitions, exhibition marketing, and exhibition design.

Monthly courses will be included in the scheme, as well as online instructional short videos and exhibition talent matchmaking exhibitions – providing a learning platform for young exhibition professionals.

According to MEET TAIWAN, the concept of ‘MICE Salon’ was derived from the salons that were popular in 17th and 18th-century France, referring to gatherings that promote mutual exchange and self-improvement. Therefore, in addition to the curriculum, the MEET TAIWAN aims to provide communication, learning, and networking among exhibition professionals.
