MedtecLIVE & SUMMIT 2021 gears up for second virtual edition

MedtecLIVE & SUMMIT,  NürnbergMesse’s main springtime gathering for European medical technology, will be an online affair again for a second year in succession.

The event, which gathers suppliers, developers and manufacturers, as well as researchers and end users will take place online, 20-22 April.

Improved features include a new user interface designed to make networking from home more intuitive and targeted.

There will be a matchmaking system featuring 1:1 video calls and the programme will be based on nine topical thematic areas.

A Start-up contest and a new talent award will recognise young researchers and bring fresh ideas to the show programme.

Patron of MedtecLIVE, German health minister Jens Spahn, said: “The innovative strength of the medical research segment is a central pillar of our health system. Researchers, developers, end users and medical practitioners need an excellent infrastructure and strong networks. MedtecLIVE provides an important dialogue platform for this purpose.”

Christopher Boss, director MedtecLIVE at NürnbergMesse, says that this year there will be “even closer intermeshing of tradefair and congress, which is now also reflected in the event’s name.” Companies can upgrade their profile to include multimedia content and networking functions like lead lists or their own roundtable discussions and all exhibitors also have the option of reaching new prospects through a short presentation in the virtual exhibitor forum.

The MedtecSUMMIT is organised by Bayern Innovativ GmbH on behalf of the Bavarian ministry of economic affairs, regional development and energy. In the summer of 2020, the first virtual edition of MedtecLIVE brought together 3,000 participants from 62 countries, including 153 exhibitors.
