Informa Markets’ South Florida Ventures buys Premiere show group

Informa Markets’ South Florida Ventures has added to its swiftly growing portfolio of luxury lifestyle brands, acquiring Premiere Orlando, the largest beauty show in the US for an undisclosed fee. It also announced the acquisition of its sister shows, Premiere Birmingham and Premiere Columbus.

Informa Markets’ South Florida Ventures portfolio has grown quickly since the purchase of five keystone boating and yachting shows (Yachting Promotions Inc) in 2017, followed by the acquisition of Art Miami in 2019, and a partnership with the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA) to run their boating and yachting events, including Miami International Boat Show, last year. Informa Markets also organises the Cosmoprof Asia event in Hong Kong and leading aesthetic events in Monaco, Miami and Las Vegas.

The US luxury sector has been booming during the pandemic and Premiere Show Group has fast developed its Premiere Orlando and regional counterparts.

“We are thrilled to add Premiere Show Group to our portfolio,” said Ken McAvoy, president, South Florida Ventures, Informa Markets. “Under Howard’s leadership, the Premiere team has grown these shows to incredible heights. Premiere Orlando is a perfect fit within our community of art, boating, yachting, powersports and jewelry shows in the region, and we are so pleased to bring these shows and this talented team on board to reinforce our commitment to the Florida region, and to help us continue the growth of one of our highest performing and most resilient sectors.”

“We are excited to join the Informa Markets family,” said Howard Britt, president, Premiere Show Group. “This is a great opportunity for our community. Informa Markets has tremendous scale and resources, and through this partnership we have the potential to grow our shows exponentially and drive more innovation, connection and commercial opportunity for the beauty industry.”

Britt will remain with the business in a consulting role, and Ed McNeill, vice-president of Premiere Show Group will lead the team in this next chapter, reporting to Ken McAvoy. The Premiere team will continue to operate out of Orlando.

Premiere Orlando will take place 4-6 June at the Orange County Convention Center.
