Former Vienna CVB chief joins jwc consultancy Board

Christian Mutschlechner (pictured), former CEO of the Vienna Convention Bureau and ICCA president, has joined international trade fair and conference industry consultancy jwc as a Board member and senior advisor.

In his role as CEO of the Vienna Convention Bureau from 1991 to 2019 Mutschlechner was instrumental in developing Vienna to one of the leading conference destinations globally. From 2009 to 2019 he was also president of the Austrian Convention Bureau, from 2001 to 2003, president of the European Federation of Conference Towns and from 2002 to 2006 president of ICCA, the International Congress and Convention Association.  He has also received numerous industry awards, including  the IBTM World Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 and the Joint Meeting Industry Council Unity Award 2010.

Mutschlechner’s responsibilities within jwc will be to support the consultancy’s clients  in the areas of growth strategy, product development and organisation. Christian will also be involved in talent development, coaching and training.

jwc’s client list includes organisers, venues, owners/managers, associations, governments, private equity and service providers.

Mutschlechner said the opportunity to join jew offered “a unique combination of outstanding long-term practical experience and consulting know how, which perfectly fits with my own ideas”.
