Fond farewell in Nuremberg to Dr Fleck

Nuremberg Exhibition Centre held a large celebration in honour of the retirmement of Professor Dr Roland Fleck, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group. Around 800 guests came to say goodbye to the man who had led the group for 12 years years. He officially steps down on 1 August.

The event marked the career of the CEO and his 27-year career as councillor for economic affairs of the City of Nuremberg and CEO of the exhibition company. He holds the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In his speech, Nuremberg's Lord Mayor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NürnbergMesse Marcus König thanked the long-time local politician and exhibition company manager for his great commitment and services: “Over the past 12 years, Roland Fleck has left a lasting mark on NürnbergMesse and positioned it among the top German and international trade fair companies. With foresight he – together with his CEO colleague Peter Ottmann – has driven forward investments and forward-looking developments. NürnbergMesse is stable again after a successful re-launch after Corona. I thank Roland Fleck for his very successful and committed work for Nuremberg as a trade fair and business location.”

Bavaria’s minister-president Dr Markus Söder sent out his words of thanks for Roland Fleck via video greeting: “Great respect for a lifetime of achievement. Roland Fleck has always been committed to a strong Nuremberg. In the past 12 years as CEO, he has also shaped and advanced NürnbergMesse enormously as part of the team. Thank you for this commitment.

The event for Fleck, a self-confessed opera fan, was accompanied musically by an ensemble from the Nuremberg State Philharmonic Orchestra.
