2019 is set to be a record-breaking year for the Congress Centre Basel (CCB) in Switzerland, which is expecting a greater number of events and attendees than ever before.

In the first quarter of 2019, the city plays host to the 50th annual meeting of the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO). Following this is the annual meeting of the German and Austrian Society for Epileptology and the Swiss Epilepsy League.

Jonas Scharf, Managing Director of the CCB, commented: "We are delighted that the efforts of the past few years dedicated to winning major international congresses for Basel are producing results once more. We have been working closely with the event organisers for many years, and we accompany organisers right from the very start. That is paying off.

The CCB will also be hosting events during the summer, a period which is typically much quieter for events. These include the 12th International Symposium on Paediatric Pain and the 29th Regional Congress of the ISBT.

In the autumn, the density of congresses and other events picks up sharply again, and the CCB team looks forward to organising familiar and proven events, including BASEL LIFE 2019 and ABIM. This congress year with its exceptionally tightly packed schedule is then brought to a close with the 17th European AIDS Conference in November.
