IMEX America came to a close yesterday, 18 October, in Las Vegas’ Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

The event set a series of new records, and was the largest ever IMEX. Over 13,000 participants took part in the event, making over 70,000 appointments. The event expanded into an additional hall, creating space for over 3,500 exhibitors representing 150 countries.

Carina Bauer (pictured left), CEO of the IMEX Group said: “It’s allowed the investment made by exhibitors in colourful, creative booths to shine through. Many have chosen to immerse IMEX America attendees in their culture, legacy and values.”

The show also featured new experiential elements such as C2 International’s Cloud Lab, the Live Zone, Zen Space and Tech Zone.

Highlights from the educational programme included C2’s Jessica Gibbons discussing ‘emotions and technology – an exploration of audience connection’, as well as ‘cybersecurity threats – are you prepared?’ by the Events Industry Counsel.

IMEX Group chairman Ray Bloom (pictured right) commented: “This has been a landmark week for our industry. Yesterday’s announcement at IMEX America that, globally, business events generate over $1 trillion in direct spending, matching the consumer electronics sector in size, puts its economic contribution into clear perspective and places it among the world’s leading business markets.”
