The Big 5 is an upcoming construction exhibition being held at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre in Qatar from 24-26 September.

The event is organised by dmg events, and will see over 200 exhibitors, live product demonstrations, and 40+ free education workshops.

dmg has announced The Big 5 is receiving support from H.E. Skeikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minster of Qatar.

Rawad Sleem, event director for The Big 5, commented: “The Big 5 Qatar is honoured to receive support from the Prime Minister. The rate at which infrastructure is developing is simply remarkable: according to some reports, Qatar was spending an average of $500m a week on major infrastructure projects in preparation for the World Cup 2022.

“At The Big 5 Qatar we are committed to showcasing the sector’s capacity to the international community. The event continues to gain traction in the country and we couldn’t be more optimistic as we near this inaugural edition.”

The education sessions at The Big 5 will be held by industry renowned leaders including Dr. Hossam Samir Ibrahim from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and Raimund Hanauer from Qatar Rail. The education agenda will capture the latest industry trends from How to do Business in Qatar to Trends in Solar Energy Systems.

Ahmed Al-Obaidli, director of exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), commented: “The Big 5 Qatar comes as part of our efforts to develop and grow Qatar’s business events sector, and we look forward to welcoming the construction community from near and far to Doha’s world-class exhibition venue.”
